GDPR Notice


On the 28th May 2018 the Data Protection Act was replaced by the General Date Protection Regulations (GDPR). This requires Line Dancing with Gav to have permission of all this dancers to hold information about them and to explain to you how these will be used and stored. 


All dancers are required to complete a consent form when attending their first class. The form will ask for your name, address, phone number, email address, next of kin details, which will be used only by Line Dancing with Gav. Your information will not be passed on to any third party, or anyone else.  *Line Dancing with Gav - Instructor and Door Entry Staff*


All information is secured in a lockable filing cabinet, on a pin access only laptop, phone or iPad device.


Information collected is as follows:


  1. Name(s) - to be able to address any emails or post to the dancer and will be used on the signing in register.
  2. Address - to be  used to send any post regarding class to the dancer
  3. Telephone number - to contact the dancer if class is cancelled, to update dancers on changes to the class, or for dancers to contact the Instructor if needed. Text messages maybe exchanged but no personal information is to be sent via text.
  4. Email Address - to email around a 'weekly round up' email, to keep dancers updated and for dancers to contact the Instructor if needed. No personal information is to be sent via email.
  5. Next of Kin - encase of an emergency with a dancer in class, or at a social.


Facebook messenger may be used by both parties, to make contact with each other. This is to be done via the 'Line Dancing with Gav' Facebook page, which is monitored by the instructor and another admin. No personal information is to be shared via our Facebook page or Messenger.


Photographs and Videos

At times Photographs and Videos will be taken in class or at socials. All dancers are to ensure they have completed the consent forms, and ticked all the boxes on their to give permission for videos and photos to be taken. A sign will be displayed in class and at socials if the instructor will be taking photographs or videos. The instructor will also announce before they do it. If dancers have documented that they don't want to be in any pictures or videos, they need to ensure they leave the floor, or room, well this is taking place.


Social Media

Photos will be shared on a 'Private' Facebook page and on the website. All dancers are to ensure they have completed the consent forms, and ticked all the boxes on their to give permission for videos and photos to be taken. Other people taking pictures

At socials other dancers may take pictures and videos but its the persons responsibility to ensure they ask permission, and inform the people they are taking pictures or videos and that the pictures/videos maybe share on social media. Line Dancing with Gav have no control over this.


Consent forms

All consent forms will need to be updated on a 12 monthly basis. If at any point information changes, then the dancer needs to complete a new form. 



Withdrawing Consent

If at anytime dancers want to withdraw their consent to any of the above, they will need to contact linedancingwithgav@gmail.com.

Please note any prior pictures or videos on Facebook, or the website may remain in place.
